Veterinary Technician/Assistant

We are looking to add another friendly, pet-oriented person to our work family. The Veterinary Technician/Assistant is the primary support to the doctors and patients and must be detail-oriented, able to respond quickly and calmly to crises and maintain very high standards of patient care. In addition to assisting with physical examinations, dental procedures, surgeries, and client education, Veterinary Technicians/Assistants also assist with phone support, scheduling, cash drawer management, and other computer-related tasks. The Veterinary Technician/Assistant must be able to communicate well with team members and clients, showing care and concern for their pets. This position reports to the hospital manager. Part-Time Veterinary Receptionist

We are seeking an experienced veterinary professional with dedication to patient care and excellent customer service skills to bring additional support to our reception department. Candidates must also be highly motivated, outgoing, and friendly, enjoy working with the public, and of course, be animal lovers. This position is for candidates who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and work well under pressure. Candidates must have customer service experience, possess excellent communication skills, and be able to multi-task. The ideal candidate will have a base knowledge of general veterinary procedures and will have the ability to adapt quickly. Previous experience in the veterinary field, using Avimark and Excel preferred. Wage based on experience.

The scheduled hours will be an estimate of 20-25 and every other Saturday (half day). Part-time employees enjoy benefits including:

Salina Veterinary Hospital is one of the oldest veterinary hospitals in town. Opening our doors in the 1950’s, we have had the pleasure of serving the local community for almost 70 years! Dr. Gore, our current owner, began her career with Salina as a kennel worker and eventually returned to the practice after vet school.

Currently, we are a multi-doctor practice looking to expand our team. We would love to welcome an Associate who is dedicated to personal growth and maintaining a positive, collaborative environment. We have an excellent set-up for someone interested in a heavy surgical caseload as well as room to grow our services.
